Prince George, BC — The Wild Sheep Society of British Columbia (WSSBC) is excited to announce RAMFEST 2027, a brand-new festival-style outdoor event coming to Prince George from April 29–May 2, 2027.

Hosted at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre, RAMFEST will bring together hunters, conservationists, families, youth, outdoor enthusiasts, industry leaders, artists and businesses for four unforgettable days celebrating wild sheep, wildlife conservation and the outdoor lifestyle.

RAMFEST is designed to be much more than an event—it is an experience.

Featuring shooting events, archery, an outdoor expo, educational seminars, live entertainment, family activities, food trucks, artists, a Friday night social and dance, and the RAMFEST Banquet and Live Auction, the weekend will offer something for everyone.

But at the heart of RAMFEST is something much bigger.

Our Why: Community. Conservation. Legacy.

RAMFEST is about bringing people together around a shared passion for wild places and wildlife.

It is about creating a gathering where experienced mountain hunters can connect with those taking their first steps into the outdoors. It is about introducing the next generation to conservation. And it is about raising funds for projects that will have a lasting impact on wild sheep and the landscapes they call home.

RAMFEST is about legacy.

A major conservation initiative supported through RAMFEST will be the Coming Home project—a historic effort to return descendants of California bighorn sheep to British Columbia more than 70 years after animals from the province were translocated to Oregon in 1954 to help restore struggling populations there.

That conservation effort was a success story.

Today, restored Oregon herds are thriving.

Now, those sheep have the opportunity to come home.

Over the next two years, approximately 100 wild California bighorn sheep will be captured in Oregon and translocated to the Gilpin Range in south-central British Columbia. The restored herd is expected to become an important in-province source population for future restoration efforts throughout the species’ historic range in BC.

This project represents one of North America’s most meaningful conservation stories—a full-circle moment made possible through decades of commitment, collaboration and a shared belief that wildlife conservation is about the future.

Sheep that once left British Columbia to help rebuild populations elsewhere will now help rebuild populations here at home.

RAMFEST will also support important conservation initiatives benefiting Stone’s sheep in Northern British Columbia, including habitat enhancement through prescribed fire.

Prescribed fire is an important landscape management tool that can help restore habitat conditions, improve forage availability and maintain healthy ecosystems that benefit wild sheep and many other wildlife species.

A Weekend Built for Everyone

RAMFEST will kick off on Thursday, April 29, 2027, with a Shooting School designed to help participants improve their skills and prepare for the challenges of the field.

Friday, April 30, will feature a Competitive Shoot, an Archery Event, and the RAMFEST Dance and Social, bringing the outdoor community together for an evening of music, connection and celebration.

Saturday and Sunday will feature the RAMFEST Outdoor Expo, showcasing businesses, organizations and brands supporting hunting, conservation and the outdoor industry.
