Chef Michael Hunter made headlines in 2018 when he stepped out of the back at Antler Kitchen in Toronto which he co-owns, wearing an apron and wielding the hind leg of a deer and a carving knife.
At the front window, he made a makeshift butcher’s table –and slapped the leg down. Then, cool, and methodical- proceeded to cut it up right in front of the dozen or so vegan activists protesting outside.
Steve and Kyle get a chance to sit down with him and have a great conversation about everything from his beginnings as a hunter, what Flipper pie is, and the vegan protest controversy.
