We sit down with Blaine Calkins, Conservative Member of Parliament for Red Deer – Lacombe. Mr. Calkins is the Chair of the Conservative Hunting and Angling Caucas having served his constituents in Ottawa since 2006. We discussed the current state of Canadian politics digging into the current challenges that the hunting community faces. Topics broached are Bill C-21, social licence for hunters, how important hunting and angling is to the economy and what we need to do as hunters to improve our image in the broader public.

During the intro and outro we discuss Wild Sheep Society’s ACT NOW campaign. Full details on the campaign can be found at www.wildsheepsociety.com/actnow.

Mr. Calkins is one of the good guys that is looking after our Hunting and Angling Community having growing up with a fishing pole and rifle in his hand. The podcast took place in his office under a beautiful mule deer buck that he harvested back in 2015.
