#DANISTRONG

Recently, WSSBC Life member Denis Cabana, his wife Tressa and their family suddenly lost their six-year-old daughter Danielle. Danielle was Denis’s young hunting buddy who had a zest for life, wildlife and the outdoors.

Denis and Tressa are an integral part of our wild sheep family and have been our lead chefs at our annual Wild Sheep Jurassic Classic. The time they give supporting this event is all-consuming and goes beyond what is expected of a volunteer. Denis and Tressa truly give back.

With the tragic passing of Danielle, true to our membership and our wild sheep family, one of our members reached out with the goal of honouring Dani and creating a lasting memory. Over the coming months, a number of donated items will be used for fundraising with proceeds going to a Wild Sheep Society of BC Monarch membership issued in Danielle’s name.

Depending on how much is generated we will issue a Monarch Membership to Danielle Cabana so that her name will be forever memorialized. Denis and Tressa will have the opportunity to direct those funds as they see fit toward our conservation projects or programs. With residual funds generated, we will create a legacy where a deserving WSSBC young female receives an annual scholarship through our Women Shaping Conservation initiative.

Items on the live and silent auction marked with #DaniStrong will be allocated towards this initiative.

We are also accepting donations for this cause and if the donation is made to our preferred charity – Mountain Wildlife Conservation Society, the donor may be eligible for a Charitable Tax Receipt.  For more information contact Kyle Stelter at kstelter@wildsheepsociety.com.
