Call for Directors

At our Annual General Meeting, WSSBC holds annual elections for some of their executive and board of directors which is then voted on by the WSSBC membership. Anyone who may be considering running as a director should be aware that WSSBC is a very engaged organization that is actively involved in numerous projects, engaging government, fundraising, stakeholder collaboration, wildlife management, and advocating for hunting opportunities.  As a result, those filling the role of a Director will find that the position demands a lot from any successful candidate.

To join our team of Directors please send your expression of interest to us by February 24th, 2023 at 5 PM Pacific.

Please send a brief overview of your background, a photograph, an outline of what you would like to achieve as a Director of WSSBC.  If you have any particular skill sets you think would assist our organization please highlight those also.

At our AGM, WSSBC members may nominate or self-nominate for the position of Director.  The rules around qualifications and the election process can be found in our Constitution and Bylaws.  All those nominated will have up to two minutes to highlight their qualifications.  Also, as per our bylaws, those running for a term must declare any wildlife violations they have received in the past.

Send your request to kstelter@wildsheepsociety.com by Friday February 24th, 2023 at 5 PM.  In the subject line please state: Application to join WSSBC BOD

Board members are expected to participate in monthly conference calls, assist with organizing and participating in annual general meetings, soliciting donations, serving on committees, and organizing and providing other support as required for our fundraising functions and activities.  Directors are expected to volunteer for WSSBC events, trade shows and other functions at venues in British Columbia.

If you are interested in filling a board position, please forward your ‘Expression of Interest’, including a brief personal summary of interests, experience and skills that you consider would be an asset serving to the WSSBC board of directors. Although providing an ‘Expression of Interest’ is not a requirement for running for the board of directors, by sharing your strengths with us we can ensure that those who attend and are eligible to vote at the annual general meeting will have the information needed to vote for the most suitable candidates. ‘Expressions of Interest’ can be emailed to kstelter@wildsheepsociety.com

For details on the criteria to join as a Director please review our Constitution and Bylaws paying particular attention to Part 6 and 7.
