At our Annual General Meeting, WSSBC holds annual elections for some of their executive and board of directors which is then voted on by the WSSBC membership. Anyone who may be considering running as a director should be aware that WSSBC is a very engaged organization that is actively involved in numerous projects, engaging government, fundraising, stakeholder collaboration, wildlife management, and advocating for hunting opportunity. As a result those filling the role of a director will find that the position demands a lot from any successful candidate.
Board members are expected to participate in monthly conference calls, assist with organizing and participating in annual general meetings, soliciting donations, serving on committees, and organizing and providing other support as required for our fundraising functions and activities. Directors are expected to volunteer for WSSBC events, trade shows and other functions at venues in British Columbia.
If you are interested in filling a vacant board position, please forward your ‘Expression of Interest’, including a brief personal summary of interests, experience and skills that you consider would be an asset serving to the WSSBC board of directors. Although providing an ‘Expression of Interest’ is not a requirement for running for the board of directors, by sharing your strengths with us we can ensure that those who attend and are eligible to vote at the annual general meeting will have the information needed to vote for the most suitable candidates. ‘Expressions of Interest’ can be emailed to Director of Communications, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
